지난해는 대부분의 코인이 폭락한 한 해였다. 코인마켓켑에 따르면 2022년에 비트코인은 65%, 이더리움은 68%가 하락했다.

1)톤(TON)
TON은 2022년 1월1일 3.80 달러에서 출발해 1년 뒤(2023 1월1일) 2.27달러를 기록했다. 40% 하락했다. 메신저 텔레그램이 만든 탈중앙 레이어 1 토큰으로 2020년부터 톤재단이라는 독립적인 커뮤니티에 의해 개발되고 있다.비트코인의 가격은 증권 가격과 어떤 관계를 가질까? 같은 방향으로 움직일까? 아니면 반대 방향으로 움직일까? 정답은 시기에 따라 다르다는 것이다. 그런데 지난해에는 유독 같은 방향으로 움직인 것으로 확인됐다.
지난해 비트코인 가격은 기존 증권시장의 가치 등락과 최근 10년 중 가장 유사하게 움직였다. 코인메트릭스 차트를 보면, 2021년까지의 상관계수가 0.2를 웃돌았으나 2022년에 들어서면서 0.7에 가까운 값에 도달했다. 이는 가상자산 시장에 기관 자금이 유입되면서부터 나타나는 현상으로 해석된다.그러다 보니 증시 상황이 악화될 경우 비트코인도 함께 하락할 가능성이 크다. 물론 그 반대의 경우도 성립한다. 상당수의 가상자산 ‘큰손’들은 기술주 주식도 같이 갖고 있는 경우가 많다. 이들은 시장이 침체기일 때 주식과 가상자산을 같이 팔아서 현금화를 한다. 살 때도 같이 산다.
하지만 그 상관관계는 지난 두 달 동안 동안 낮아지고 있다. 상관계수가 0.6을 넘어섰던 올해 초에 비해 최근 들어 0.43으로 나타났다. 달러 강세와 바이낸스 위기설 등의 여러 가지 요인에 의해 S&P 500은 전반적으로 상승한 데 비해 비트코인은 1만 7000달러를 향해 하락했다. 비트코인 가격은 FTX 거래소의 파산으로 가장 큰 영향을 받았으며 11월에는 거의 20% 급락했다.업계에서는 비트코인 강세장이 조만간 재개될 가능성은 점점 낮아지고 있으며 약세장이 더욱 확대될 가능성이 높다고 전망한다. 최근에 비트코인은 약세장 압박과 높은 에너지 비용이라는 숙제에 직면해 있다. 이로 인해 코어 사이언티픽(Core Scientific)과 같은 대규모 마이너(채굴자)의 파산 가능성까지 제기되면서 마이닝 산업이 극도로 경쟁적으로 변하고 있다.
그리고 헥스 파운더인 리차드 하트(Richard Heart)는 “가격이 하락 추세를 지속하지 않을 가능성이 극히 낮으며 비트코인 가격이 최소 1만 1000달러까지 떨어질 것”이라고 전망했다. 이유는 이러한 하락이 이전 가격 하락률을 반영하기 때문이라고 한다.
많은 거래자들은 이것이 디커플링 현상으로 이어질지에 대해 궁금해하고 있다. 비트코인 투자자들은 일반적으로 비트코인이 주식·채권 등 전통적인 자산과 높은 상관관계가 없는 것을 선호한다. 꽤 오랫동안 비트코인 가격이 주식 시장에서 ‘디커플링’되어야 하며, 다시 한번 주식 시장을 극적으로 능가하기 시작해야 한다고 믿고 있다.
그렇기 때문에 제미니 공동 설립자 카메론 윙클보스(Cameron Winklevoss)와 같은 자칭 비트코인 팬들은 비트코인이 주식과 채권을 따라가는 것을 멈춘 것처럼 보일 때 비로소 시장을 주목한다. 그러나 지난 몇 달간 비트코인과 주식의 상관관계가 떨어진 것은 사실이지만, 여전히 높은 실정이다. 그리고 미국의 외환 및 자산 중개업체 오안다(OANDA)의 선임 시장 분석가인 에드워드 모야(Edward Moya)는 경제적 불확실성이 투자자들의 리스크 수용 범위를 계속 낮추고 있기 때문에 여전히 가상자산은 “연준의 금리 인상 주기 동안 주식과 높은 상관관계를 유지할 수 있다”라고 말했다.
한편 비트코인과 다른 실물 자산의 상관관계도 중요하다. 상관관계를 분석함으로써 비트코인의 가격 움직임을 더 잘 이해할 수 있다. 모비우스 캐피탈 파트너스를 공동 설립한 마크 모비우스는 가상자산은 투자심리의 척도라고 말한다. “비트코인이 폭락하고 다음날 다우 존스가 폭락했으며 비트코인이 선행 지표임을 보여줬다”라는 말까지 했다.
특히 전문가들은 원자재 중에서도 경제의 선행지표로 유명한 구리와의 상관관계에 주목한다. “비트코인의 가격은 전통적인 주식 지수보다 구리와 더 높은 상관관계를 보인다”는 골드만삭스 원자재 전문가들의 의견이 있다. 구리도 어느 정도의 인플레이션 헤지 수단이 되며 가격 변동성이 크고 위험자산인 비트코인에 가깝다고 한다.
최근 1년간의 비트코인과 구리 시세 그래프를 보면 그 가치의 등락이 유사하게 움직인다. 구리의 최근 상승세는 비트코인에 대한 긍정적인 신호일까? 상관관계가 중요한 이유는 투자 포트폴리오를 만들 때 자산들의 밸런스를 맞추는 데 결정적인 판단 기준이 되기 때문이다. 모든 자산의 가격이 다 같이 올라가고 내려가는 것은 바람직하지 않다. 상관관계가 없는 자산 조합에 투자하면 포트폴리오의 전체 위험을 줄이고 전체 수익을 높일 수도 있다. 그래서 앞으로 증시뿐만 아니라 채권, 구리 등 다양한 자산들과의 상관관계가 어떻게 변할지 주목해야 할 필요가 있다.
현재 암호화폐 거래소 "업비트"에 따르면 가상화폐 대장 격인 비트코인의 시세는 전일 대비 -18,000원(-0.09%) 하락한 21,061,000원에 거래되고 있다.
비트코인을 제외한 가상화폐 동향은 혼조 양상을 보이고 있다.상승세를 보이는 가상화폐는 총 7종목으로 이 중 가장 큰 상승세를 보이는 피르마체인은 전일 대비 11.5% 상승한 50.4원에 거래되고 있다.
또한, 시빅(6.81%, 102원), 쿼크체인(5.94%, 9.99원), 휴먼스케이프(5.0%, 92.4원), 아더(2.83%, 87.2원), 룸네트워크(2.57%, 51.9원), 하이파이(1.41%, 576원)가 상승세를 나타냈다.하락세를 보이는 가상화폐는 총 6종목으로 이 중 가장 큰 하락세를 보이는 알파쿼크는 전일 대비 -6.81% 하락한 931원에 거래되고 있다.

◇ 사례1 “비트코인 저점 곧 다가온다”
크립토퀀트 온체인 데이터 분석가 댄 림(Dan Lim)에 따르면, 아래 차트와 같이 비트파이넥스(Bitfinex) 거래소 내 비트코인 보유량과 비트코인 가격 추이 간 상관관계를 바탕으로 비트코인 저점이 곧 다가온다고 주장했다.
즉, 상기 차트와 같이 온체인 데이터를 비교할 경우, 비트코인 가격이 저점이었을 때가 곧 비트파이넥스 거래소의 비트코인 보유량이 가장 높았다. 따라서 현 시점 역시 저점에 다가왔다는 의미가 된다. 또한, 아래 차트와 같이 매수된 지 일주일에서 한 달로 추정되는 UTXO 물량의 비율이 최근 하락장에서 처음 급등했다.
과거 이러한 움직임은 과거 하락장 시기에 비트코인 최저 가격이 각각 2015년 185달러, 2018년 3100달러, 작년 1만 6000달러였던 것과 일치한다. 앞선 움직임이 나오기까지 2018년에는 1358일이 소요되었고, 작년에는 1444일이 소요됐다. 이것이 결국 장기적인 사이클 관점에서 바닥이라고 보는 결정적인 근거다.
비슷한 관점을 가진 크립토퀀트 온체인 데이터 분석가 가두시파(ghoddusifar)에 따르면, 비트코인 매수량이 2020년 11월 이후 최저 수준에 도달했다고 주장했다. Exchange NetFlow(거래소에 유입되는 비트코인과 유출되는 비트코인의 차이) 지표를 근거로 비트코인 매도 압박이 아직 남아있다고 본 것이다. 가상자산 거래소에서 비트코인의 거래량과 매수량의 증가는 시장이 상승 추세로 전환되고 있다는 신호 중 하나지만, 비트코인 매수량은 여전히 하향하고 있다는 것이다.
크립토퀀트에서 작가로 활동하는 맥디(MAC.D)에 따르면, 나스닥 상장사 중 비트코인 채굴기업의 주식 가격이 급락하면서 파산 위기에 처하자 채굴자(기업)들이 현금 확보를 위해 보유한 비트코인을 매도할 것이라 주장했다. 이는 곧 비트코인 가격 하방 압력으로 작용할 것이고, 아래 차트와 같이 낮아진 해시레이트 및 가격 데이터의 상관관계를 통해 과거에도 채굴자가 항복했을 때가 비트코인의 주요한 저점 신호로 봤다. 이것이 저점 신호인 가장 큰 이유 역시 과거 온체인 데이터에 근거를 두고 있다. 온체인 데이터에 따르면, 과거에도 매수 기회를 노리던 자들이 채굴자가 항복 시 매수해 가격 상승을 이끌었던 사례가 많았기 때문이다.
크립토퀀트 인플루언서 아이티테크(IT Tech)에 따르면, 비트코인 가격이 바닥에 도달했다고 주장했다. 아래 차트(비트코인 장·단기 보유자가 비율을 보여주는 지표)와 같이 장·단기 보유자가 과거에 70% 이상이 됐을 때 가격이 하락했고, 이 비율이 감소할수록 비트코인 가격이 상승했던 온체인 데이터를 근거로 내세웠다. 즉, 비트코인을 6개월 이상 장기 보유한 사람의 비율이 현재 90%에 가까워졌고 이것을 비트코인 가격 주기의 바닥에 도달했다는 신호로 해석했다.
비트코인에 투자하면 3배의 수익을 얻을 수 있다며 가짜 투자 사이트로 사람들을 속여 17억원을 편취한 20대 남성이 법원에서 중형을 선고받았다.
2일 법조계에 따르면 서울동부지법 형사5단독 신서원 판사는 사기 혐의로 기소된 송모씨(25)에게 징역 7년을 선고했다. 다만 재판부는 피고인이 체포 당시 갖고 있었던 약 1억4000만원에 대해서는 "이번 범행으로 취득한 물건으로 특정할 수 없다"며 몰수하지는 않았다.
송씨는 지난해 1월부터 3월 사이 "비트코인에 투자하면 원금의 3배 이상의 수익을 얻을 수 있다"며 10명의 피해자에게 약 17억1068만원을 편취한 혐의를 받는다.
가상화폐 투자사기조직의 총책이자 모집책을 맡은 송씨는 SNS 오픈채팅을 통해 "비트코인에 투자하면 원금의 3배 이상의 수익을 얻을 수 있다"는 스팸 메시지를 보내 피해자들을 꾀어냈다.
그러나 재판부는 허위 진술 주장에 대해 "전체적인 취지에서 증인의 법정 진술 내용과 긴급체포 승인요청서에 기재된 진술 내용에 별 차이가 없다"며 "피고인은 언제 얼마를 빌려줬는지를 구체적으로 진술하고 있지 못할뿐 아니라, 차용증도 전혀 작성하지 않고 현금으로 돈을 빌려줬다는 주장은 경험칙상 납득하기 어렵다"고 선을 그었다.
위법한 체포였다는 주장에 대해서도 "(경찰이) 피고인을 발견했을 당시 바로 피고인을 체포하지 않으면 피고인이 증거를 인멸할 염려나 도망할 우려도 있었다고 보인다"며 "피고인을 체포할 당시 긴급을 요해 미리 지방법원판사의 체포영장의 받을 수 없는 상황이었음이 인정된다"고 받아들이지 않았다.
신 판사는 "피고인은 납득하기 어려운 변명을 하며 범행을 모두 부인하는 태도로 일관하고 있고, 공범이 더 있을 것으로 보이지만 수사기관에 전혀 협조하지 않고 있다"며 "피고인은 이번 범행의 가담 정도가 중하고 편취금 총액도 17억원 이상으로 상당한 규모"라고 지적했다.
이어 "피해자들이 거액을 편취당해 경제적, 정신적으로 큰 고통을 받고 있으며 피해회복이 전혀 이뤄지지 않았다"며 "피고인에게 벌금형을 초과하는 전과가 없는 점과 제반 양형조건을 종합적으로 참작했다"며 양형이유를 밝혔다.송씨는 이를 보고 연락한 사람들을 '글로벌마켓.com'이라는 가짜 가상자산 투자 사이트에 가입시키고, 투자를 빌미로 130 차례에 걸쳐 송금받은 것으로 조사됐다.비트코인 등 가상자산 시장이 2일 오후 하방 압박을 받고 있으나 나름의 시세 회복도 시도하는 중이다.
비트코인은 2100만원을 달리고 있으며 리플은 436원 수준이다. 이더리움은 오랜만에 155만원 고지를 밟았다.도지코인은 91원, 이더리움클래식은 2만원 공방전을 펼치고 있다. 파일코인은 4000원, 솔라나는 급등해 1만4000원을 오가고 있다. 액시인피니티도 8100원을 기록하며 등락을 거듭하는 중이다. 클레이튼도 194원이다.올해 침체의 연속이던 암호화폐 시장이 연말도 암울하다. 12월 마지막 주의 비트코인 가격 그래프는 꾸준한 하락을 나타냈다. 이더리움, 리플 등 다른 코인들도 마찬가지다. 연말 랠리를 기대했던 투자자들의 시름이 깊어졌다.바이비트가입시장 침체의 주역인 대형 암호화폐 거래소 FTX는 또다시 고객 자금 횡령 의혹이 불거졌다. FTX 사태의 여파가 끝날 기미가 보이지 않는다. 미국 증권거래위원회(SEC)는 다시금 거래소들에 규제 칼날을 들이댔다. FTX처럼 코인 거래소들이 준비금 증명이 엉망이라는 것. 게리 겐슬러 SEC 위원장은 이들은 ‘카지노’에 비유하며 경고하기까지 했다.코인마켓캡 따르면 26~30일 비트코인 가격은 최저 2079만453원(30일·금요일), 최고 2159만8277원(26일·월요일)을 기록했다.
이번 주 초 2100만원대였던 비트코인은 꾸준히 하락해 29일 들어 2000만원대로 무너졌다. 그간 비트코인은 연말에 상승 랠리를 보여왔지만, 올해는 잠잠한 것이다. 비트코인 가격은 일주일 전과 비교해서는 2.46% 감소했다.
30일 코인데스크는 “비트코인은 지금 간신히 물 위에 떠 있다”며 “비트코인은 계속해서 폭풍이 지나가는 것을 지켜보고 있다”고 말했다. 이더리움 등 주요 알트코인들도 비트코인처럼 연속적인 내림세를 보였다. 이더리움은 일주일 전보다 2.78%, 리플은 3.46% 하락했다. 도지코인과 에이다는 각각 13.11%, 7.46%나 급감했다. FTX 창업자 샘 뱅크먼-프리드가 재판을 앞둔 가운데 FTX가 고객 자금을 빼돌렸다는 추가 의혹이 계속 제기되고 있다.
28일(현지시간) 미국 CNBC 방송에 따르면 미 증권거래위원회(SEC)는 FTX가 고객 자금 2억 달러(약 2520억원)를 빼돌려 벤처기업 두 곳에 투자한 혐의에 대해 고소했다.
FTX는 자회사 FTX벤처스를 통해 지난 3월 핀테크 기업 데이브에 1억 달러(약 1260억원)를 투자했다. 데이브는 당시 특수목적법인(copyright)을 통해 그보다 두 달 전 상장한 상태였다.
FTX는 지난 9월에는 블록체인 업체 미스틴랩스에도 1억 달러를 투자했다. 당시 기업가치 20억 달러(약 2조5200억원)로 평가된 미스틴랩스에는FTX 외에도 코인베이스와 바이낸스랩스 등이 투자했다.
SEC는 FTX 계열사인 알라메다 리서치의 캐롤라인 앨리슨 전 최고경영자(CEO)와 게리 왕 FTX 전 최고기술책임자(CTO)를 상대로 제기한 고소장에서 “두 투자 건은 알라메다로 빼돌린 FTX 고객 자금으로 지원됐다”라고 적시했다.
데이터 분석기업 피치북에 따르면 FTX벤처스는 이외에도 수십 건의 투자를 했지만, 미스틴랩스와 데이브가 유일하게 공개된 투자 내역이다.
재판을 앞둔 뱅크먼-프리드의 핵심 혐의는 알라메다 리서치로 FTX 고객 자금을 빼돌렸다는 것이다. 알라메다 리서치는 이 자금으로 고위험 투자 대상에 투자했다. FTX벤처스는 이 과정의 일부였을 것이라는 의혹을 받고 있다.
미스틴랩스와 데이브 측은 FTX의 부정행위와는 연관이 없지만, FTX가 고객 자금으로 벤처에 투자한 첫 사례로 확인됨에 따라 해당 투자에 대해 정밀한 조사가 이뤄질 것으로 보인다. SEC가 이 두 벤처회사에 대한 FTX의 투자가 고객 자금으로 이뤄졌다는 연결고리를 밝혀내면 해당 투자 자금을 회수할 수도 있다.
그러나 데이브는 성명을 통해 “FTX가 가진 채권은 2026년 3월에 상환하기로 돼 있다”며 “그 어떤 계약 조항도 그 전에 상환해야 하는 의무를 부과하고 있지 않다”고 강조했다.
미스틴랩스는 비상장사라 미국 법에는 투자 자금을 회수하기 위한 명확한 절차가 없다.이 밖에도 뱅크먼-프리드와 게리 왕이 알라메다 리서치로부터 5억4600만 달러(약 6879억원)를 빌려 온라인 주식 거래 플랫폼 로빈후드 지분을 매입한 것으로 나타났다. 현재 로빈후드의 주식 소유권을 두고 FTX와 암호화폐 대출업체 블록파이, 다른 채권자들이 다툼을 벌이고 있다.
뱅크먼-프리드는 이와 관련해 뉴저지 법원에 제출한 진술서에서 알라메다로부터 빌린 5억4600만 달러가 로빈후드 주식을 소유하고 있는 자신의 기업 이머전트 피델리티로 들어갔다고 밝혔다. 이 자금으로 이머전트 피델리티가 로빈후드 주식 총 5600만주를 매입했다는 것이다. 뱅크먼-프리드는이머전트 피델리티 주식의 90%를 소유한 최대 주주다.
한편 형법상 사기와 인터넷 뱅킹을 이용한 사기, 돈세탁, 불법 선거자금 공여 등의 혐의로 기소된 뱅크먼-프리드에 대한 재판은 2023년 1월 초부터 본격적으로 시작된다.게리 겐슬러 미 SEC 위원장이 최근 거래소들 사이에서 유행하고 있는 준비금 증명의 결점을 지적하며 거래소들에 대한 규제 강화를 예고했다.
겐슬러 위원장은 26일 블룸버그와의 인터뷰에서 “서부 시대 카지노와 같은 운영 행태를 보이는 거래소와 기업들을 규제할 것”이라며 이같이 말했다. 준비금 증명이 SEC가 증권법에 의거하는 공개 기준에 부합하지 않고, 해당 감사서들이 신뢰성을 갖고 있지 않다는 것이다.
겐슬러 위원장은 “현재의 준비금 증명은 거래소 자산과 부채 내역 중 어떤 것도 명확하게 증명하지 못한다”며 “거래소가 고객 자산을 거래소와는 철저하게 분리된 곳에 안전하게 보관하고 있는지도 답하지 못했다”고 설명했다.
이어 “거래소와 기업들은 모든 거래를 정확하게 기재해야 할 뿐만 아니라 고객의 자산을 분리해서 보관하고 있다는 점을 명시해야 할 것”이라며 “암호화폐가 고객들에게 실존한다는 확신을 주기 위해서는 오래 시간을 거쳐 검증을 마친 자산 예치, 고객 자금 분리 원칙과 회계 규칙 등을 준수해야 한다”고 강조했다.
겐슬러 위원장은 통합 규제안을 통해 미 상품거래위원회(CFTC)와 암호화폐 시장 관할권을 분할하라는 미국 입법부의 입김 속에서도 강경하게 SEC의 관할권을 주장하고 있는 인물이다. 그는 비트코인을 제외한 대부분의 암호화폐를 유가 증권으로 보고 있다.금융당국이 가상자산 발행·보유·거래 기업들을 대상으로 공시를 의무화하는 방안을 추진한다.
28일 한국공인회계사회와 한국회계기준원이 공동 주최한 가상자산 회계·감사·감독 세미나에서 이런 방침이 공개됐다.
금감원 방침에 따르면 가상자산 발행·보유·거래 기업은 관련 현황을 감사보고서에 주석 형태로 공시해야 한다. 한국회계기준원이 회계 기준서에 이러한 주석 공시 관련 근거 조항 신설을 추진하고 있다.
김경률 금융감독원 회계관리국 국제회계기준팀장은 “가상자산 관련 다양한 회계 이슈가 있으나 회계 처리 및 감사 지침은 불충분한 상황”이라며 “테라·루나 사태, FTX 파산 신청 등으로 정보 공시 필요성이 늘어났다”고 말했다.
금감원이 공개한 주석 공시 모범 사례에 따르면 가상자산 발행사는 가상자산의 총 개발 수량, 발행량 변동 내역, 보유 중인 수량 정보 등을 공시해야 한다. 보유사는 취득 경로, 보유 목적, 회계상으로 인식한 손익 등을 시장에 알려야 한다. 가상자산 거래소는 거래소 보유분뿐만 아니라 고객으로부터 위탁받은 가상자산 규모, 관련 위험성 등도 공시해야 한다.바이비트금감원은 금융위와 협의를 통해 최종 주석 공시 모범 사례를 확정할 예정이다.
